Students get an insight in the grammar of german from a perspective of teaching german as a foreign/second language. They know aspects of language acquisition as refected in stages of learners' interlanguage and models of progression in teaching grammar. They can describe the role of grammar in actionbased and learnerfocused language teaching.

The role of grammar and teaching grammar in actionbased and learnercentered teaching of german as a foreign/second language; knowledge of grammar and its impact on language use; selected areas of german grammar and how to prepare them for classroom activities; grammar and its progession in textbooks and teaching media; means of visual support of grammatical information and rules.

Introductary presentations, plenary discussions and analysis of learning materials; presentations on various subjects by the students.

Students take part regularly and contribute actively; presentation of a special topic and its transfer into classroom acitivities to the plenary; written paper.
