General introduction to theoretical basics and research approaches of historical scholarship.
Representatives of the different core areas of the Bachelor's Programme (Contemporary History, Ancient History, History of the Middle Ages, History of Modern Times, Austrian History, Economic and Social History) present theoretical basics and current research approaches of their field.
Lecture, interactive work with sources and research literature.
Written exam. The exam covers four of the six presented core areas and will be evaluated with a cumulative grade. The exam dates will be announced in class.

This course is in Curriculum BA History (2009) for VO sources and methods of the historical sciences.
