Students completing this module can deal methodologically correctly with an area of physics and present the results in both written and oral forms that are easy to understand. Other aims are the acquisition of presentation skills, media competence, self and time management, creativity and innovation skills.

Introduction to the methods of scientific working; in-depth treatment in form of a seminar and a bachelor’s thesis with a physic-related topic.

Bachelor thesis: written thesis on a topic from experimental physics based on scientific literature to be handed in electronically (PDF) and in two spiral-bound hardcopies, max. 25 pages.

Semiar presentation using Powerpoint oder whiteboard, 25 minutes plus 5 min discussion

Successful completion of compulsory modules Linear Algebra and Analysis 1, Introduction to Physics, Physics 1b: Mechanics and Thermodynamics, Physics II: Electromagnetism and Optics, Physics III: Atom-, Quantum- and Solid State Physics, min. one course of the module Physics IV: Nuclear and Particle Physics and Theoretical Physics.
