The students are able to understand the basics of General and inorganic chemistry, and geophysics and apply simple chemical analytical methods.

The course provides the basics of geophysics.

The course covers an introduction to Geophysics (seismology, geodynamics, earth magnetism, shape and gravity of the Earth) and the methods of applied geophysics (Gravity, magnetics, geoelectric, electromagnetics, Ground Penetrating Radar, reflection/refraction seismics and borehole geophysics). The lecture is usually complemented with exercises (Geophysical Data processing on PC). The use of geophysical methods for the characterization of the shallow subsurface is addressed.

Lecture, assessment is based on a single examination at the end of the course.

Course examination according to § 7, statute section on "study-law regulations"

Will be discussed in the first lesson.
