Students are able to apply molecular biological methods for the genetic engineering of bacteria and fungi. They have profound knowledge in the planning and performance of scientific experiments and are able to interpret obtained results.
Standard molecular biological methods will be applied for the construction of gene deletion and/or over-expression vectors which will subsequentlyl be used for the generation of genetically engineered fungi. Obtained fungal transformants will be genetically and phenotypically characterized by molecular biological, biochemical and microbiological techniques.
Experimental planning and performance of experiments in small teams;
permanent (performance in the course); written report
will be handed out at the first course meeting
