Students acquire general knowledge of safe work in a chemical laboratory and responsible handling of hazardous materials. Students are capable of applying stoichiometric calculations and aquire practical laboratory skills in introductury chemical experiments on topics of general chemistry. In the "General Chemistry Laboratory Course" students gain multidisciplinary shills/key skills, such as the ability to work in a team and oral and written communication skills.

determination of the atomic mass of magnesium, stannic oxide formula determination, column chromatography of plant dyes and thin layer chromatography of amino acids, equilibrium constant determination for homogeneous equlibria, acid base reactions and puffer systems, equilibrium constant determination for heterogeneous equlibria, preparation of copper(II)-sulfate and silvering of glass, ester synthesis, electrochemistry, quantitative inorganic analysis
