This module provides an overview of terrestrial high mountain animals (vertebrates and invertebrates) from habitats ranging from the timberline to the nival zone. The specific habitats will be introduced by experts during the excursions, with focus on species determination.
Specific topics comprise vertebrates and arthropods of the high mountain area, altitudinal distribution of the soil fauna, succession and trophic interactions on the glacier foreland.
Continuous assessment (based on regular written and/or oral contribution by participants).
Course examination according to § 7, statute section on "study-law regulations"
Will be discussed in the first lesson.
