Learning Outcome:

Raising awareness for the problens resulting from legal jargons, especially in regard to legal translation.

Contents:

The lecture aims at introducing students to the problems of legal jargon and translation especially in regard to comparative legal studies. The difficulties arising from different legal jargons will be illustrated with examples from legislation, case law as well as academia particularly emphasising the anglo-american legal family.
