Society and the economy are both undergoing a radical change which concerns every area of life including the field of education, jobs, and ways to make a living. This change is becoming increasingly existentially meaningful for each individual because job satisfaction and life satisfaction depend on an individual’s options, personal ability, interests, personality traits, and their own self-concept.

This lecture should theoretically explain to students which parameters influence occupational choice as well as personal career management and how these impact success. In the practical part of the lecture, students will learn self-management, self-marketing to develop their personal brand, as well as suggestions concerning the development of additional “soft skills” in order to improve social- and self-competence. In this way, students will find out how to optimally conduct themselves for their career entry and how to develop a suitable career strategy.
