Understanding the evolution of language, taking into account the external as well as the internal history, in order to eventually see modern French as the result of evolutions at the different levels

 

 

Presentation of the external history; discussion of the evolution in the fields of syntax, morphology, semantics, phonetics and lexicology

participation, contributions, talks, a written exam

will be discussed in the first classes

Introduction into 'working scientifically'; introduction into French linguistics; language classes French I; and grammatical analysis; BA students have to have the modules 2, 7, 8, 13;
