Juana Inés de la Cruz (1651-1695) is the most famous female writer in the era of Mexian colonial baroque. The seminar is dedicated to the writings of Sor Juana and focusses particularly on the reflections of processes of transculturalisation in her work: how does she take up elements of the Spanish baroque literature and culture and in which way does she transform these elements in the multicultural context of colonial Spanish-America?
