Students are able to describe and analyze sentence structures in the theoretic frameworks that are usually referred to in Slavonic linguistics.

Students get an survey of  the relationship between the semantics of an utterance and its syntactic structures, possible sentence constituents, types of sentences and the analysis of different sentence types in the framework of current linguistic theories.

By juxtaposing Russian with Polish and B/C/S students acquire a deeper understanding of Russian syntax and gain insight into the syntactic specificities of Polish and B/C/S.

Introduction into syntactic theories and their practical application

Practical exercises throughout the semester and final exam
