Expanded knowledge and independent application of art-historical methods on examples referred to in the lecture.

The exchange between the cultural centres of Europe was not only possible through modern means of transport and communication, but is deeply embedded in history. The seminar undertakes the task of understanding form of appearance and mechanisms of transfer by means of art key objects especially of the 14^th and 15^th century. Particular attention will be paid to the specific characteristics of reception that is never limited by the solely imitation of prototypes, but also means a selection. In this way the particularities make reflective processes in confrontation with the “other” comprehensible.
