Special aims, tasks and aspects of mother tongue teaching Questions on importance and evaluation, questions on how to teach and learn linguistic skills, aims and excessive demand, survey of different exercises with respect to age-specific competence, questions and problems of testing and assessing, the use of media regarding text skills in connection with spelling-, gramar-, correction- and summarising-programmes. Written and oral performances. How to deal with motivation problems.

By means of necessary discussions grammar competences accoring to the current syllabus for Unter- und Oberstufe should be conveyed as well as comparing and contrasting various text-books in order to prove teaching German grammar based on divverent  teaching moels using new media with emphasis on German as a foreign language/second language. Furthermore, grammar should be discussed in this context together with other fields when teaching German.

Reflecting upon subject related literature and teaching examples

Class participation, dealing with topics of the lecture and the assigned literature, the preparation and presentation of a lesson, presentation of a topic as a groupwork, written exam of grammar skills

Essays of journals and standard literature on language methodology will be arranged at the beginning oft he semester.

Recommended for the 3./4. semester in the subject German for the teaching degree. Requirement for registration: completed STEP and the lecture "Sprachwissenschaft für die Schule "
