-          Reflection of different concepts of cultural learning and approaches to using literature in ELT

-          Critical reflection of various primary text (not) suitable for cultural learning in ELT

The aim of implementing literatures from English-speaking countries lies with raising intercultural awareness, offering insights to other cultures and inviting students to change their perspectives and “meet” people of other cultures. With this in mind questions such as

-         What kind of literature should be used in ELT?

-         How should cultures be represented?

-         How should multicultural classrooms approach literatures from other cultures? can be asked.

We will focus on children’s and young adult literature from various English-speaking cultures and critically reflect how to learn from and about other cultures.
