Basic knowledge of the buildings and the athletic events of Olympia as well as its political role.
The lecture deals with ancient Olympia as a sanctuary and as a venue for the Olympic Games that were held there every four years. The focus will be on the central role of Olympia in the Greek world as well as on the athletic events and the significant archaeological remains of the site.
