Students who have completed this course should have developed a basic understanding of modern astronomical instrumentation and of observational techniques, as well as be able to report and apply the content of this lecture.

electromagnetic spectrum, telescopes, imaging, spectroscopy, interferometry, polarimetry, near-infrared/sub-mm/radio astronomy, satellite telescopes, astronomical databases, observing procedures, data reduction.

Lecture, assessment is based on a single examination at the end of the course.

Course examination according to § 7, statute section on "study-law regulations"

Will be discussed in the first lesson.
