Introduction to Mathematics 1

The students know the basic tools of higher mathematics.
Within the lecture the selected topics of higher mathematics will be presented, e.g. functions, vector analysis, matrices, differential and integral calculus.
The learning matter is recited theoretically and practically by means of exercise examples. For self-dependent practice/self-control examples with solutions are provided. A tutorial (2 h per week each) give support for the preparation of the learning matter.

Note for students of the degree programme Bachelor of Earth Sciences: To complete the compulsory module 2 introduction to mathematics (7.5 ECTS) completely, you must introduction to the mathematics of 1 and 2 positive pass the exams to the lectures as well as mandatory visit one of two tutorials: Tutorial 1, Tuesdays from xxx in the SR 5 (6th floor) Tutorial 2, every Wednesday from xxx in the SR 60819 (8th floor) Note: the two tutorials were allocated to each one of the two lectures for organisational reasons. In terms of content, both (parallel) courses refer to both lectures. FIRST exam date (together for introduction to the mathematics of 1 and 2): xxx
