Since the Neolithic man exerts influence on ecosystems of the earth, which induced fundamental environmental and climatic change. The course familiarizes students into the basics, concepts and methods of anthropogenic induced vegetation changes in the last 10 000 years.
The students get an overview of the anthropogenic impact on vegetation and climate with focus on Europe (Alps) and SW-Asia in the last 10 000 years. Palaeoecological methods are exercised in teamwork in selected anthropogenic deposits.
Lecture and laboratory course, assessment is based on a single examination at the end of the course
discussed in the first lession
