Students acquire the ability for providing evidence for past vegetation and climate changes by analyzing natural and/or anthropogenic assemblages by exercising palaeoecological methods and to interpret palaeoecological data in an accurate way.

Specific palaeoecological questions will be answered in teamwork by studying selected natural and/or anthropogenic assemblages in the field and lab. Special attention is emphasized on accurate planning and modern methods of analysis as well as scientific interpretation of data.
