Conveying to students an integrative view of molecular physiology. Physiological functions (e.g. enzyme activities, oxygen transport in the blood, etc.) shall be intended as a whole, i.e. by integrating the respective mechanisms at the levels of gene regulation, protein expression, and protein functionality within the cell and the organism.
Selected examples of protein functions illustrated at the molecular, biochemical and cell physiological levels to yield a holistic perception of their significance in the organism
Lecture, assessment is based on a single examination at the end of the course.
