Practical experiences in the field of gene regulation and expression of stress proteins and their functional modulation by extrinsic (environmental) factors

Contents:

Impact of stressors and heavy metals on gene expression of metallothioneins in terrestrial gastropods

Methods:

Dual approach: mRNA extraction, cDNA synthesis, amplification and identification of target genes using polymerase chain reaction; and identification of the expressed proteins by means of gel chromatography, spectroscopy and metal analysis from tissues of metal-exposed gastropods
