Knowledge of different neuropsychological assessment tools, evaluation of these methods, interpretation of data, writing of reports

In this seminar we will discuss the process from a diagnostic question to the neuropsychological report. We will discuss the potentials, limitations and problems in the use of neuropsychological tests. Different assessment tools are presented including neuropsychological screenings, standardised tests as well as experimental methods. Diagnostic procedures for assessment of frequent neuropsychological disorders (e.g., disorders of memory, attention, language) will be discussed.  In practical exercises we will evaluate the characteristics of neuropsychological assessment and the difficulties in the interpretation of neuropsychological data. After completing the seminar participants should have a good knowledge of the diagnostic procedures used in neuropsychology and should be able to write a report with given data.  They should know some test procedures in more detail and should be able to evaluate them critically. Participants should know frequent problems occurring in neuropsychological assessment. We will also discuss tests for malingering.
