Together with the students a well-funded knowledge about the different types of eating disorders should be developed.

Eating disorders are becoming more frequent and can be understood as increasing and serious health issue, especially for young girls and women. Disorderd eating has the function to reduce intrapsychic conflictive tension of a person and to influence interpersonal relationships.

In this seminar we will talk about the phenomenology and etiology of eating disorders. Furthermore we will have a look at research on emotion regulation and the organisation of relationship and attachment in patients with eating disorders. Finally different treatment approaches will be presented and discussed.
