Students will acquire basic knowledge about selected topics of current psychological basic research. Among others, the seminar will cover personality psychology, social psychology and emotion research. Within these topics, students work on a subtopic which they present in class, and apply acquired knowledge from the course in small exercises such as sketching hypothetical studies and experiments.

The seminar will cover developments in psychological basic research. Topics will cover the area of personality psychology, social psychology, and emotion research, such as humor and laughter, music and emotions, different theoretical and empirical approaches in emotion research, social interactions, social status, and power. Additionally to lectures by the lecturer, students will work on different topics in small groups and present them in class.
