Ways of Being Political
For several decades, neoliberal discourses and practices lead to a radical transformation of our society which threatens to depoliticize on increasing levels, under the conditions of globalization. The seminar is dedicated to the return of the political through so-called ‚radical democratic approaches'. It fanthoms the political as a contested territory and explores the potential of architectural/ agonistic practices. After the common reading of texts (Laclau/Mouffe, Badiou, Rancière, Lefort, Derrida) a number of projects will be analyzed, interpreted and discussed in the seminar. The aim of the discussion is to increase the awareness for the political dimension of architecture.
