SE 3

Participants are expected to research and operate in various media to develop critical approaches in the broader context of architecture. An open attitude both in a theoretical and practical context is expected towards text based and visual sources and media. Seminar work will focus on research (reading assignments, oral reports) and direct translation (production notes, final written paper). A typical result of this seminar is predominately text-based.

Workshop: NOV 4—8 2013, full attendance required.

This seminar will touch organizations as structures, relations, states and arrangements—maybe in this order. The course will focus on the dynamics of constructive/destructive buildings, often illegal activities and on what forms its raison d'être. We will approach this though reading and report assignments, research & analysis and respond through various genres of visual media—documentary, narration, and fiction.

Continuous assessment (based on regular written and/or oral contribution by participants).

Course examination according to § 7, statute section on "study-law regulations"

Will be discussed in the first lesson.

This course will run over the entire winter term with monthly submission deadlines. One focus workshop will take place at the beginning of November (full attendance is required).
