The learner can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialisation; he/she can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party; he/she can produce clear, detailed texts on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.

cross-cultural incidents, misunderstandings, languages across the world; printing press; discovery; interviews; alternatives; compromise; changes
Linguistic Goals:
to describe feelings/consequences; to solve misunderstandings; to make an interview; to support an argument; to persuade someone; to describe hopes/goals; to describe processes by using scripts; to signal in a discussion that you want to come in on something; to refer to previous information; to write about the advantages/disadvantages developments; to debate; to compare ideas with each other; to speculate
Structural Goals:
conditionals (past and present) - to talk about possibility/hypotheses/unreal situations; verbs with adverbs and prepositions; gerund and infinitive - to distinguish between verbs; future progressive and future perfect; future time expressions to talk about predictions, plans, events; reporting verbs - to integrate past conversations; presentation techniques and language - to give a well-structured presentation; linkers to show cause and effect - to make a clear argument/to differentiate between two people's opinions
