At this level a more active participation in conversations is possible, though some restrictions in communicative ability still remain and support by the other person is sometimes necessary; e.g. the learner can start/ keep going/ end a conversation on limited, familiar matters; can deal with routine information in everyday situations, but still cannot fully realize his/her communicative intention and has to search for words. In addition, the ability of sustained monologue is better developed, e.g. the learner can express in simple words how he/she feels, can talk about aspects of his/her life in detail, e.g. about people, places, job experience or education.
