From Antiquity to present day, philosophers have examined the phenomenon of time. In this lecture we use their theses to explore basic philosophical problems in the context of time.

  • rational and absolute interpretations of time
  • idealistic and realistic interpretations of time
  • time and movement
  • the irregularity of time (McTaggart)
  • and B-series in time
  • eternity

Lecture inputs, reading assignments and discussion.

Oral exam.
