Knowledge of the historical context and the main statements of the text ‘On the Freedom of a Christian’. Ability to recognise the text’s advantages and limitations through reflections from a catholic perspective.

In the year 2017, we remember 500 years of the Reformation. The central thought of Martin Luther is the freedom of the Christian from law. Justification has brought this to the believer in Christ. Martin Luther’s text ‘On the Freedom of a Christian’ summarises the reformational cause and is therefore an apt basis to study the central message of the Reformation.

See methods of assessment.

Active participation in the seminar, written preparation für each session, essay.
