Extended ability to reflect critical on the own research-activities in the context of the rich tradition of theology from the origin of the church to current trends. Better understanding of theological topics and positions by considering the context of their formation.

Depiction of typical models an conflicts of theology in history. Discussion of the topic of the academic nature of theology and their specific disciplines and of possibilities and limits of interdisciplinary research.

Lecture and discussion of sources.

Oral exam.

Will be discussed in the first lesson.

This lecture is compulsory to all doctoral- and PhD-Students at the Theological Faculty. It continues the lecture Scientific Theory I (202900) from the winter semester  2014/2015 and is closely linked to the seminar about Teaching and Presenting Scholarly Research, which should be attended in the same semester.
