310930 Current issues in European Union constitutional law (including an introduction to academic writing skills)
summer semester 2017 | Last update: 05.02.2024 | Place course on memo listThis course aims to transfer skills which the students will find useful when drafting their own doctoral thesis. After having completed this course, students will be able to gather information on current developments of EU constitutional law and to assess them in light of the academic literature. They will also be able to communicate their research results more effectively due to newly acquired academic writing skills.
The course examines contemporary issues of EU constitutional law, with a particular focus on the following issues: fundamental rights protection, data protection, EU-citizenship, EU-exit of the United Kingdom, threats to the rule of law in Poland/Hungary. Suggestions by students regarding further topics are very welcome. In addition, students will be introduced to basic principles of successful academic writing.

Students should be able to read academic articles in English.
