To develop skills in the target language French at level C1.

Both language systems are compared for similarities and differences (morphology, syntax and semantics). The course ist practice-oriented and primarily consists of translation exercises (German > French).

Highlighting the features of the French language in contrast to the German, using following approaches: Translation exercises (sentences) - Translation of texts and excerpts - Individual and collective correction, correction proposal - Constrastive reading (German - French).

- Regular attendance (2 absences allowed) - Active participation in class - Submission of homeworks - 3 written exams during the semester.

The texts for translation will be regularly distributed during the semester: - Excerpts from the German language press (social issues) - Excerpts of the German language literature of the 20th and 21st centuries - Spezialised texts (education, tourism...).
