Students are able to distinguish the major works of Russian literature and evaluate their historical and literary background.

Independent reading of selected major works of Russian literature from the 18th to the 21st century. (guided by a reading list) Reading of selected theoretical essays, written by the Russian literary scholars (such as the Formalists). Presentation and discussion of topics, techniques and context of literary works and the arguments of selected literary theories.

Independent reading, presentation and discussion in minor groups.

Independent reading and research, active and regular participation in the sessions, short presentation.

The reading list will be displayed at the end of the winter term.
