Insight in the structure and formulation of scientific texts in English.

Discussion of individual texts with particular attention of the features of academic English.

Introduction of individual topics as formal lectures, discussion of particular aspects of texts in pairs or small groups, followed by reporting to the entire group

The assessment consists of three parts, each involving work with an academic text:

  1. Describing the structure (30%)
  2. Writing an abstract (30%)
  3. Writing a critical summary (40%)
