Acquisition of competences and a critical attitude in dealing with historical sources and representations of history as well as the ability to present the newly-acquired knowledge in oral and/or written form; acquisition of the competent use of relevant scholarly methods.

Reading and evaluation of historical sources and representations of a period/epoch and/or of a part of history; identification of the scholarly formulation of questions in history, historical representation and narratives; reading and evaluation of historiographical texts and analysis as historical sources.

Reading, oral presentations and handout, paper, discussion; teacher's lecture.

Course with continuous performance assessment: attendance at all sessions, regular and active participation in discussions, oral presentation and handout, paper (max. 5 pages).

A selected reading-list will be provided at the start of the course.
