622014 Field Trip Historical Field Trip: Traces of World War I: Görz-Triest-Vittorio Veneto-Bassano del Grappa-Trient
summer semester 2017 | Last update: 19.04.2018 | Place course on memo listCritical discussion of historical sites, objects and memorial cultural (re) presentation forms; Competence to explain historical phenomena on site.
The war against Italy, which began in May 1915, was carried on with extreme brutality on both sides. The twelve Isonzo battles and the war in snow and ice on the Dolomite front are characteristic for this war. In November 1918, the Danube Monarchy had to lay down their arms. The result: Austria-Hungary broke into a series of successor states, Italy obtained today's South Tyrol and the Trentino. In the seminar we discuss the war events between 1915 and 1918 and in particular the alpine war, but also the development of the air war from the beginnings to the end of the war. It is also about the lives of the soldiers on the front, as well as about the lives of the civilians behind the front. It examines myths created during the war, but also realities that have since then been forgotten.
Guided tour and/or lecture from the field trip leaders; provision of information material and oral presentations by the student; discussion on site.
Permanent participation, oral presentation with paper.
Will be discussed in the first lesson.
