The acquisition of basic skills in dealing with sources and literature, especially in ancient history.

In case studies coming from various literary, epigraphic, and archaeological sources we want to deal with the cultural and social history of the archaic Greek world. On a more general level the course is meant to be an introduction to the sources, methodological approaches, and tools in ancient history.

Combination of lecture, guided reading, and group work.

Exercises, participation, written paper.

Relevant literature will be announced during the course.

Online-Registration. Maximum up to 30 participants.

Due to substantial differences in the allocation of ECTS-Credits in various curricula (teacher training programs/specialized degree programs), the requirements for this course vary. Information will be provided by the instructor at the beginning of the course.
