For some years the history of globalisation has ranked among the flourishing branches of historical research. Starting from the leading analytical concepts in this field, the course aims primarily at exploring central processes of early modern intercontinental entanglement in their political, economic, social and cultural dimensions. At the same time, we will exercise basic historical methods and forms of presentations with reference to selected examples.
Reading and discussion of sources and secondary literature; thematic presentations; group work
Regular and active participation; oral presentation; written final paper
