This exercise course is held alongside the Lectures in Theoretische Meteorology: Thermodynamik (707625). The objective of the course is to provide practical knowledge of Atmospheric thermodynamics by teaching the methods used for solving problems in thermodynamics. These exercises closely follow the theory presented in the Lectures.

Students know the theoretical background, which leads to the derivation of the fundamental laws of thermodynamics and, in particular, those relevant for the understanding and modeling of the Earth's atmosphere. They can apply those laws approriately and are aware of the conditions (simplifying or generalizing assumptions) they apply.
