The participants learn to conduct empirical research in the domain of personality and psychological assessment, including the development of a research question and its contextualization within the previous research literature, the formulation of hypotheses, the development of an appropriate research design; data collection and analysis; interpretation of results and write-up of a report that constitutes the Bachelor thesis.

The focus of part II of the research seminar is on the completion of data collection, data analysis, data interpretation, and effective writing. Students report on the progress of their research and receive feedback. In the course of the semester, the fixed class meetings may be replaced by individual supervision meetings.

Presentations by the lecturer in class, mostly about topics and and methods relevant to conducting empirical research. These are alternated by discussions and oral presentations by the participants in group and/or individual meetings.
