The students will acquire experimental skills regarding the synthesis and characterization of organic compounds. The students will also acquire basic interdisciplinary key competences regarding their capacity for team work as well as oral and written communcation skills
Synthesis, isolation and characterization of organic compounds; isolation of natural products, metal organic and electrocyclic reactions, use of protecting groups and heterogenic synthetic techniques, practical examples include nucleic acids, amino acids, vitamins, natural pigments and fullerenes
Continuous assessment (based on regular written and/or oral contribution by participants).
Course examination according to § 7, statute section on "study-law regulations"
Will be discussed in the first lesson.
Students who intend to participate in the practical course are asked to register via LFU-online. Successful completion of the following courses is recommended: 726.402 Organisch-chemisches Praktikum I,726.501 Organische Synthese, 726.502 Strukturaufklärung III und 726.503 Chemische Biologie.
