At least since the last Facebook Developer Conference F8 2916, bots have been an important topic in the online and media sector. Virtual assistants and chatbots promise easier handling of everyday life questions and activities. In the field of political propaganda and PR, debates focus mainly on social bots. These are used to form political opinions and automatically spread fake news in social networks. They are programmed on simple key words and thus scan twitter timelines and Facebook posts to simulate human communication. In this module, different theoretical and practical approached to these topics will be presented and discussed.
