winter semester 2017/2018 | Last update: 14.09.2023 | Place course on memo listTo acquire a systematic overview of educational theories throughout history; to understand and assess theoretical foundations of education with respect to different standpoints.
Understanding of education in Antiquity; the Age of Enlightenment; "Weimar Classicism"; "Neuhumanismus" (Wilhelm von Humboldt); critical theory; critical rationalism; cross connections between education, self-cultivation and socialization.
Lecture with discussion.
