winter semester 2017/2018 | Last update: 06.03.2023 | Place course on memo listThe students are able to reproduce deepened knowledge of a special area of German linguistics and can work scientifically and independently on a certain topic.
The pro-seminar will focus on the linguistic discipline of contact linguistics. The course is subdivided into two parts. The first introductory lessons present the theoretical background and introduce some research methods in contact linguistics. Multilingual corpora provide the opportunity to examine as well as discuss some authentic language contact phenomena. In the second part, students will engage in individual empirical research and present their outcome to the whole of the group.
PowerPoint-lecture enlivened by discussions and group/partner exercises, oral presentations by students.
