To deal with literary texts reflecting on the methodology and to develop a well-founded understanding of literary texts using meaningful examples

Following an introductory reflection on interpretation theories, we will move on to consider the various forms of short prose. Thereafter, we will analyse short stories from the early 20^th century through to the present day with regard to their themes and generic features and, using various methodological approaches, interpret them against the backdrop of the respective socio-cultural context.
