Examination of current trends in media, language and communication analysis with examples from selected media; introduction to and testing of qualitative and quantitative methods of Media Analysis

The course covers (mainly text- and media) linguistic perspectives on recent aspects of language use, visuality, multimodality and intermediality in online-based and mass media forms of communication.

Basic reading, lecture, discussion, group work, sample analysis

Presentation of basic reading (group work), presentation of small empirical case study (group work), and term paper
