The students are supposed to interpret film narrations, taking into account theoretical, social, intermedial and historical contexts.

The course will introduce in the media history of movie adaptions from Austrian literature from the 1950 to our present time. The different movie interpretations should be linked with their social und cultural environment and with intermedial researches and theories.

Faculty lecture, oral presentations, group work, plenary discussion.

Recommended for the 2nd semester (Master Programme Media) and for the 2nd semester (Master Programme German Philology). Students of Master Programme Media have priority.
