Developing advanced academic writing and research skills

After the course, participants will be able to formulate clear, intelligible research questions. They will be familiar with the basic structure of research texts in German language and literature studies, and will be capable of structuring their own research proposals.

Effective writing with a focus on language, content and structure

Discursive and critical writing modes

Hands-on teaching activities

Lecture, discussion, group projects

Using various feedback techniques (e.g. peer feedback, video-based feedback, critical in-class analysis of student writing)

Hands-on writing activities

In-class study of academic and student texts

 

In-class and final written assignments
